Lewis Hamilton drove a superb race in Shanghai, China. His win extends his Formula 1 World Championship lead by another 2 points as well as quieting his critics who thought Lewis make mistakes.
Lewis in China
Lewis was dominating all weekend and has proved he and McLaren Mercedes have the dominant package at the moment. The Ferarri’s drivers, Kimi and Massa, never even came close at this race, which lead to a perfect start to finish lead for Lewis.

Lewis Finishes 12th in Fuji

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

Lewis Hamilton finished the Japanese F1 race on the Fuji Speedway in 12th position after a drive through penalty and a collision with championship rival Massa.

Lewis Hamilton gives Fuji Interview

A bad start caused Lewis to be super aggressive in the first corner locking up his tyres on the inside of the corner and pushing Kimi out wide who had a good start and was just in front. This aggressive move gave Hamilton a drive-through penalty.

Ok, now people are already debating whether this is fair or not as usually there’s no drive-through given under these circumstances - but that’s just the way it was today. And Lewis didn’t look happy after the race. I think the main reason was the Massa collided with him causing Lewis to spin and end up at the back of the field.

Lewis Hamilton 7th In Monza

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

The Italian Grand Prix in Monza was most definitely one of the best races of the season so far.
Lewis Hamilton in rainy Monza
Lewis Hamilton’s race was purely a damage limitation exercise today and Lewis succeeded as he only lost 1 point to Filipe Massa, even though he started 15th on the grid.

Overall the Italian race was very good and eventful with lots of overtaking and just good racing. The race started behind the safety car as it was raining quite heavily at the beginning but dried out near the end of the race making it possible to use intermediate tyres.

An awesome race and congratulations to Sebastian Vettel who had a perfect weekend and won the Italian Grand Prix. He’s the youngest ever F1 race winner

Updates below

Lewis Hamilton Wins Spectacular Belgian Grand Prix. WOW!! What an exciting ending at the Spa Grand Prix.

Lewis started from pole and lead the race for a lap or two before Kimi manage to take the lead at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.Hamilton Wins at Spa

Kimi was leading most of the race but after the final stop the Finn didn’t look too comfortable on the hard-compound tyre and Hamilton was catching up. Then in the last few laps it started to rain and get pretty slippery and the cars were sliding around all over the place.

Then Lewis cought Kimi up and tried to overtake but was blocked on the first attempt. After a few more corners Lewis managed to get ahead but then went wide and Kimi overtook Hamilton again. Kimi then took the lead again but then spunn off in to the wall giving Hamilton the lead again.

UK visitors will be able to watch the highlights here.

Lewis Finishes Second In Valencia

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

Lewis Hamilton finished in second position behind Ferrari’s Massa at the new European Grand Prix, the Valencia street race.

There was no safety car as many people thought that there would be. Though, Alonso only lasted a lap after somebody drove into the back of him and he lost his rear wing.

Robert Kubica did well to finish 3rd place in front of Kovalainen who finished in fourth position.

All in all most track feedback was positive and generally people were happy with the new track and facilities around.

Lewis is still leading the championship but lost two points to Filipe Massa. Hamilton’s effort was fantastic considering that he had severe neck and back problems from a trapped nerve before qualifying and it wasn’t even sure that he will be able to race.

There was an incident with Massa leaving the pit lane as the same time as another car and there is some debate about weather it was safe or not. It will be investigated after the race.

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

Lewis Hamilton manages to get back up to 5th place after an unexpected puncture dropped him down to 10th.

Lewis Hamilton\'s Puncture in HungaryAt the start of the race with the two McLaren’s in front it was likely that they would control the race. Who would have thought Massa would overtake them by the second corner, let alone that Hamilton will get a puncture.

Spectacular Lewis Hamilton Wins In Hockenheim

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

Lewis Hamilton wins his fourth race of the season at the Hockenheim Ring in Germany - taking the lead in the Driver’s Formula 1 World Championship Standings.

Lewis stormed away from the field from the start of the race, leading by the length of the strait after only a few laps. Massa in the Ferrari was not able to keep up with his supreme pace, but fast enough to stay in front of McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen.

Lewis Hamilton on Hockenheim PodiumAs Lewis was leading the race by a country mile the safety car had to be deployed after a big Toyota crash on the pit-strait. Most cars came in to pit but McLaren left Lewis out on the track behind the safety car. This turned out to be a mistake as the rest of the field went into pit to get tyres and fuel to last to the end of the race, apart from Hamilton how had to come in again.

Lewis came out on track in 7th position after the pit-stop behind his team mate Heikki who soon realised that Hamilton was a lot quicker and decided to let him though. Lewis then managed to pass Heidfeld, Massa, who was having brake and tyre problems and Piquet who did very well to pit early the get his best ever F1 race result in 2nd position.

There was no stopping Lewis with his incredible speed and consistency this weekend and hopefully for the rest of the season ;-) .

Superb Hamilton Wins Silverstone Grand Prix

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

A superb race by our man Lewis Hamilton, who won his maiden home grand prix race in Silverstone.

Lewis Hamilton celebrating his win in SilverstoneIt was an eventful Formula 1 race today, with light to heavy rain mixed in with some sunny spells causing very tricky conditions for the Formula 1 drivers out there. There were plenty of spins by most of the drivers, including Lewis but Nick Heidfeld seems to be the only driver who didn’t spin off the track landing him a podium finish in second place.

Barrichello also had a great race finishing in third position with his Honda. This was mainly because he went for the full wet tires when it was pouring down with rain.

It seems Lewis Hamilton has silenced his critics for now who’ve been complaining about his lack of performance recently, especially his Montreal crash and his French no-points finish.

Things are starting to look up again as Lewis Hamilton is joint-championship leader with Ferrari’s Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen . Massa who finished last and Kubica who retired didn’t score any points. Though Robert Kubica is only trailing by a mere 2 points, this is really starting to look like 4-horse-race.

I can’t wait until the next race which will be in Germany on the 20th of July in 2 weeks time.

Tough French Magny-Cour Race For Hamilton

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

We’ve gotta admit that this must have been a really tough race for Lewis Hamilton who is fighting for his maiden Formula 1 World Championship. Unfortunately the FIA penalty from last race lost him 10 starting-grid positions. There are different opinions about this and Lewis had to take a lot of sh*t for it.

What mattered most today is that he could not have a competitive race starting way back in 13th position as there is only one real overtaking opportunity at Magny-Cour. The lack of overtaking chances really made it a very tough French Grand Prix for him because he just couldn’t pass the car in front even though it was 0.5 seconds a lap slower. This is his second no-points-finish in a row! This has got to change

Current Formula 1 Championship Standings:

48 Felipe Massa
46 Robert Kubica
43 Kimi Raikkonen
38 Lewis Hamilton
28 Nick Heidfeld

Lewis is already 10 points behind F1 Championship leader Felipe Massa now. Let’s hope things will turn around for him in the next races. The season is long and a lot of things can still happen, but he needs to finish well consistently from now on.

Hamilton’s Unlucky DNF In Montreal

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

The 2008 Montreal, Canada Formula 1 race is one Lewis Hamilton probably wants to forget about after crashing into the back of Kimi who was waiting for the red light to go off at the pit lane exit.

But these things can happen to the best of them. It’s just very unfortunate as Hamilton was leading the race comfortably before the safety car, and then this.

Robert Kubica decided to grab the opportunity of the usual front runners missing out on the points to win his maiden grand prix victory and to lead the Formula 1 World Championship.

Let’s just hope the next race (in two weeks) will be better - I’m sure it will be!

Fantastic Lewis Hamilton Wins In Monaco!

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

A fantastic race win today by Lewis Hamilton, who had qualified third in Monaco on Saturday.

The Formula 1 Monte Carlo Grand Prix race is well known for the near impossible overtaking around the city-circuit, and Lewis starting in third, didn’t have the as good a chance as he could have had. BUT, Hamilton managed to get into second position, overtaking current Formula 1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen , by the first corner.

Of course there was the rain which made conditions very tricky around the street circuit - but it made things the more interesting to watch. There were quite a few cars in the barriers, lots of mistakes happening all around, including Lewis who got too close to a barrier and needed new tyres.

Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton who achieved a life-long ambition by winning the Monaco Grand Prix. :D

Hamilton Second in Turkey with McLaren Strategy

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

An interesting Formula 1 race in Turkey today. Lewis Hamilton started from the clean side on the second row of the grid, unlike Kimi Raikkonen, who lost a few places starting from the dirty side.

Super Lewis Hamilton overtaking maneuver on Felipe Massa during the race, giving Lewis some race leading laps to show his true racing speed on his 3-stop strategy.

The next race is in two weeks, in Monaco - the race of the year! I can’t wait! :-)

Bahrain: One Race Lewis Might Want To Forget

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

Okay, well it seems the Bahrain Formula 1 race wasn’t to be the best for our man Lewis Hamilton who could definitely use the points as he’s slipped down to 4th in the Formula 1 World Championship with 14 points, being 5 points behind F1 Championship Leader Kimi Raikkonen.

Things should hopefully be “back to normal” at the next Formula 1 race in Barcelona, Spain on the 27th April 2008. The McLaren Mercedes racing car would have been developed more by then and should hopefully be more competitive with BMW and Ferrari.
