Lewis Hamilton did very well to qualify in 3rd position in Barcelona, Spain. The Red Bull cars seem to be a far superior package compared to the rest of the field with their Adrian Newey designed Formula 1 car.

April 17th, 2010 Lewis Hamilton qualified in 6th position in China and had the following to say:
I’m a little disappointed – we wanted to get pole today, and thought we could –, and I don’t really know where the time went in Q3.
The tyres felt fine – pretty much exactly the same as in Q1 and Q2, when the car felt great – but in Q3 the car started moving around a lot more, and it felt like the front was bottoming.
We’d been quick all weekend, but sixth was the best I could do in Q3. I think we ought to have been further up the grid – but we’ll fight our way as far up the field as we can tomorrow. I’m sure it will be a good race.

April 16th, 2010 Lewis Hamilton posted the fastest time in the 2nd free practice session in China with 1m 35.217s, followed by Mercedes GP’s Nico Rosberg with 1m 35.465s compared to Jenson Button’s 1m 35.593s. Michael Schumacher was 4th in the second Mercedes on 1m 35.602s. The two Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber completed the sub-1m 36s runners with respective times of 1m 35.791s and 1m 35.995s.
Lewis Hamilton’s comments:
We may have topped the timesheets in each session, but I don’t necessarily think today’s times make us the favourites for this race. The car does feel good, but our pace looks pretty similar to some of the other cars on long runs.
Everyone talks about us having a straight-line advantage, but that’s not true – other cars have the same speed as us at the end of the straight. We’re a little bit quicker than some teams, but, equally, they’re able to run more downforce. It’s about getting a good balance – and we feel we’ve got that.
We’re continuing with the good feeling we felt in Malaysia, but we’ve made some further subtle changes and they were encouraging. I come out of today with a positive feeling – we’ll now keep our heads down and concentrate on gaining a strong qualifying position tomorrow.

April 11th, 2010 Lewis Hamilton speaks about the upcoming 2010 Chinese F1 race:
It’s hard to believe that we’re heading into the fourth race of the year – the races have gone by so quickly. After Malaysia, I had a little bit of time to reflect on the year so far, and I’m pleased with the results that Jenson and I have been able to achieve in some challenging circumstances. And I’m really looking forward to an uninterrupted weekend in China so we can focus on racing and competing with the other leading teams in the championship.

March 27th, 2010 Q: For a 41 year-old the performance of Michael Schumacher wasn’t too bad…
Bernie Ecclestone: It has nothing to do with age. I’m already 79, so be careful what you’re saying!
Lewis Hamilton: Obviously some people don’t age. Like Bernie and Michael. Don’t forget, he’s still a seven-time world champion, even if he wasn’t at the very top in Bahrain. Though I’m sure that it did not go unnoticed that Nico (Rosberg) was faster than him all weekend.
Q: And what do you draw from that?
LH: That Nico was the faster one. You could see that most clearly in qualifying, where there are no differences in fuel load and it is all about pure speed. Nico was clearly faster.

March 16th, 2010 The results from the poll on who would be Lewis Hamilton’s main competitor in the 2010 Formula 1 season are here.
Over 1700 Lewis Hamilton fans have participated in the poll.
Here are the results:

Fernando Alonso has received the most votes for being Lewis Hamilton’s competitor by a country mile. Which seems to reflect his win in Bahrain last weekend.
Jenson Button and Michael Schumacher are relatively close together followed by Sebastian Vettel. I would have thought that Vettel would be most competitive after Alonso, as he as proven to be very good. We don’t know how Michael Schumacher was going to do so he’s a bit of an unknown and it also largely depends on how Mercedes GP improve. But he’s always going to be a threat.
It was also surprising that Nico Rosberg received so few votes as he’s a quality driver!
The 2010 Formula 1 season is certainly going to be interesting.
Poll results in %:
Fernando Alonso - 38.07%
Jenson Button – 19.62%
Michael Schumacher – 18.22%
Sebastian Vettel – 13.62%
Felipe Massa – 8.03%
Mark Webber – 1.28%
Nico Rosberg – 1.16%

February 3rd, 2010 McLaren unveiled the new 2010 Formula 1 car: the MP4-25.

The 2010 car look great. The MP4-25 looks relatively similar to last year’s MP4-24 car. Although this time round the car has a longer wheelbase due to the fuel tank volume increase, which has to contain enough fuel to last an entire race distance in 2010.

January 6th, 2010 Do you think Mercedes will give Lewis Hamilton an SLS AMG if he is 2010 F1 world champion? Who knows, they might do (but he would probably buy one himself if he really wanted one).
The Mercedes SLS AMG can be seen in this video, it looks and sounds awesome! Especially doing an incredible stunt in the tunnel!
