Lewis Finishes 12th in Fuji
October 12th, 2008Lewis Hamilton finished the Japanese F1 race on the Fuji Speedway in 12th position after a drive through penalty and a collision with championship rival Massa.

A bad start caused Lewis to be super aggressive in the first corner locking up his tyres on the inside of the corner and pushing Kimi out wide who had a good start and was just in front. This aggressive move gave Hamilton a drive-through penalty.
Ok, now people are already debating whether this is fair or not as usually there’s no drive-through given under these circumstances – but that’s just the way it was today. And Lewis didn’t look happy after the race. I think the main reason was the Massa collided with him causing Lewis to spin and end up at the back of the field.
Hamilton’s post race comments:
You can always look back and wish you did something else, but I made a mistake and I paid for it. This sort of thing happens, you’ve just got to keep your head up and keep going.
We both got the same penalty but I didn’t hit anyone and he did, so I guess that’s just the name of the game, I don’t think it makes any difference, I lost one point today, which I guess is damage limitation.
We’ll move onto next week. We’ll still be as competitive and we’re going to make sure we win the last two races. We plan on winning. Not at any cost, but we plan on winning.

oh man! unlucky. you can still doooo iittttt!!!!
Once again the FIA has embarrased itself. Lewis, you did not deserve that penalty, the first corner was clearly just a racing situation, 20 cars into one corner just doesn’t go. Massa deserved so much more than a drive through for punting your car off the track after he had cut the corner. I seem to recallthe Belgium GP, youcust a corner, gave the place back to Kimi, and then were stripped of your win. There is no consistancy with the FIA’s decision. Bad luck mate, still two races to go though.
The FIA once again have shown their inability to make a unbiased decision! Just a shame its been at Lewis expense yet again!
Something really does need to be done about this repeated abuse of authority against McLaren.
Every race there are incidents on the 1st corner, yet today they give Lewis a penalty ? why !
I will tell you why, because they had to give Ferrari a penalty today so they had to shaft Lewis as well so Ferrari didn’t throw their teddys out the pram ! UTTER JOKE.
FIA GET IT TOGETHER OR BE REPLACED, people are losing faith in F1 because of your decisions alone. Beginning to become a sham because of YOUR ACTIONS.
FIA = Férrari Internationale de l’Automobile
Hammilton shouldn’t have that penalti and tbh, Bourdais, shouldn’t either. But as long as Ferrari is involved in anything, FIA is ready to help them.
Formula1 is seriously turning into a farce this year. It’s a year of stupid decisions, all in favour of “Fiarrari”.
Lewis your racing adventures and tribulations mirror a famous historical figure who was the “Fastest Bicycle Racer” in the world a black man who was America’s first Black World Champion his name was Marshal “Major” Taylor in the early 1900′s the fastest vehicles in the world were bicycles, and many highy contested races were held all over the world..you can imagine the pressures placed on the “Major” as a result of his built in handicap. A lot of the tactics and rules were always skewed to disfavor Major but he always overcame them because of his incredible abilities and character. Please if you haven’t already buy a copy of his autobiography you will be amazed at the similarities between your experiences and his even though his started in the 1890′s the book again is “the Fastest Bicycle Rider in the world” by Marshall “Major” Taylor.
