Alonso Allowed To Leave McLaren-Mercedes

August 7th, 2007

McLaren Mercedes team boss Ron Dennis has apparently told Fernando Alonso that he is free to leave the team at the end of the year.

Fernando seems to be unhappy that there is an equal driver status is the team, and being world champion he deserves to have the number 1 driver status – especially with a rookie in the team. Unfortunately for him it’s Lewis Hamilton – who has performed extremely well and is leading the Formula 1 Championship by 7 points.

There have been some negative headlines as well as neutral headlines regarding this issue. But you’ve gotta give Alonso a break too, after all – he IS world champion. Maybe the McLaren team mentality isn’t for him (and possibly Lewis too).

Well, I just can’t wait to see what happens at the next race…

Thanks for including my website in our story. I was being more negative to McLaren for letting such a talented driver leave the team.

Thanks again for the link, and for the trackback!
